Massinger is important because of his work, not because he was a follower of Shakespeare. It wasn't the opinion of EB 1911, where this article originates; nor does any other encyclopedia, in my experience, feel the need to mention WS in the first sentence of an article about one of his contemporaries, as if they are of no other significance. 144.138.194.81 05:00, 21 Dec 2003 (UTC)
