I don't think that will be a very productive section for the article. The organization of the Navy has changed quite a bit over time, and the squadrons were always very fluid. When I was a gator officer from 1961-1963, PHIBRON TEN was more or less permanently assigned to the Caribbean. There were two groups of ships, again with a somewhat fluid membership, one of which would be down there at any given time, and the other of which would be in Norfolk or enroute one way or the other. The actual composition of PHIBRON TEN, as I remember it, was very dynamic. Lou Sander (talk) 02:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

There was another PHIBRON that did the same thing in the Med (but I never was too close to it). I think that when you went to the Med, you joined that PHIBRON (SIX, I think it was, probably because it was part of the Sixth Fleet). When you came back, you left it.

The person in charge of a PHIBRON was the Commodore. The job would have a title like COMPHIBRON TEN, for Commander, Amphibious Squadron Ten. I think the Commodore was more or less a permanent fixture of the PHIBRON, and the ships would shuttle in and out. Lou Sander (talk) 03:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
