Phillip P. Puckett is a Democratic member of the Senate of Virginia, representing the 38th District since 1998. In 2005, he unsuccessfully sought the Democratic party nomination finishing last in a four-candidate field behind Leslie L. Byrne, the eventual nominee, Chap Petersen, and Viola Baskerville.
