I think including the Chinese name for a non-Chinese person is going overboard. It's fine if that person had a Chinese name and used it regularly (i.e. Ho Chi Minh), but otherwise it would be as ridiculous as including the Chinese transliteration of George Washington in the article about him. 128.200.248.61 23:39, 17 Oct 2003 (UTC)

[edit] What Chigngcnbncbnbvnbccncncnnnnese Name?

The name of PM Phan Van Khai written with the accent marks at the beginning of this aricle is in Vietnamese, not Chinese. It is therefore entirely appropriate and consistant with all articles about Vietnamese places and people in this Encyclopedia.

Once more, a comment like the one about PM Khai's name written in Chinese reflects the unfamiliarity of the general public about Vietnam. Such lack of understanding could and did lead to tragedies for both nations.

He's talking about an older version of the article which also included his name in Chinese characters, presumably chữ nôm. DopefishJustin (･∀･) 16:59, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
