A part of the Peutinger Table, showing Southern France and the location of the Roman city of Glanum in red. Scan of a photocopy, processed and re-coloured by User:Cwoyte (Colours are nowhere near authentic, and have only been added for clarity's sake).
Apart from Glanum, the following cities are shown: Avennione (Avennio: Avignon), Arelato (Arelatum: Arles), Foſſis Marianis (Fossae Marianae: Fos-sur-Mer), and Maſilia Gr[a]ecorum (Massilia: Marseille). The two rivers shown are River Rhône (flowing North to South, the blue legend ostia fl[uvii] R[h]odani meaning "mouths of the River Rhône") and Durance (East-West). The names of all locations are given in the ablative case because they denote the distance from a given city; a kink in the road line indicates the actual location.
