Talk:Pet turtles

does anyone no how much a turtle is at petco

No idea, and Wikipedia isn't the place to find out. Try visiting one of the MANY pet reptile forums and asking there. Or else, just phone 'em and ask. I will say one thing though, the cost of the turtle is trivial compared to the cost of the vivarium. So if you're on a budget, don't bother keeping one. The tank needs to be big (30 gallons+), it needs a heater, it needs a UVB light, and you need a filter to clean the water. You need dechlorinator and you need vitamin supplement to add to the food. Turtle food isn't acceptable for long-term care, so you need to budget in the correct diet, which in the case of red-ear sliders for example is 50-75% green vegetables. All told, it's a couple hundred dollars. People who economise on the basics end up with dead turtles. Cheers, Neale Neale Monks 22:07, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

In Hong Kong, a small turtle costs HK$10, which is equivalent to US$1.25 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.153.1.117 (talk) 16:19, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
