Peter Wray

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Wray (born February 21st, 1964 in Peterborough, Ontario) is a former writer, film maker and performer. He has transformed his production and promotion background in the entertainment business into a successful and at times notorious career as an avid promoter of new technologies, copywriter and business marketing strategist.

A highly publicized example of his unique acumen was untypically employed for the greater good when he participated in a series of articles for The Phnom Penh Post following through on an expose in Time Asia that noted Cambodia as a 'pedophile playground'. The Cambodian Government seemed complacent to the international community in their handling of the matter and appeared ready to free the convicted pedophile back to his native UK, however after a skillfully created expose with journalist Phelim Kyne, the Cambodian courts were compelled to ensure that the British pedophile would not be freed. The expose and Wray's extensive background work prompted a turning point in how the Cambodian courts reacted to their country's reputation as a safe haven for pedophiles.

His unique marketing style merging performance art with bombastic over-the-top exploitation was most evident to the general public during an appearance on TechTV's Unscrewed with Martin Sargent. He is known for his ability to revive dead markets, promote ridiculous products or rekindle celebrity and corporate careers often using very sensationalistic or surreal methods merging Theatre of the Absurd, high camp and innovative techniques of market seduction.

As a copywriter and ghostwriter, Wray's clients are a reputed to be a Who's Who of corporate America both famous more usually, infamous. In a classical paradox of marketing, Wray does not reportedly solicit clients or accept clients except by referral.
