Peter Campbell Scarlett

Peter Campbell Scarlett CB, DL (27 November 1804 – 15 July 1881) was a British diplomat.

The son of the 1st Baron Abinger and Louise Henrietta Campbell was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Brazil from 1855 and 1858, and Minister to Florence from 1858 to 1860. Between 1862 and 1864, Scarlett was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Greece and between 1865 and 1867 Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Mexico. He was invested as a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) and was further Deputy Lieutenant for Surrey.

Scarlett was married twice, firstly to Frances Sophia Mostyn Lomax, daughter of Edmund Lomax on 22 May 1843 and secondly Louisa Anne Murray, daughter of James Wolfe Murray, Lord Cringletie on 27 December 1873.
