[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!!!

Hello Pesci! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You may also push the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Below are some recommended guidelines to facilitate your involvement. Happy editing! -- Kukini 18:46, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editing Concerns

  1. Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Kukini 18:46, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
  2. Please do not blank notices on your user talk page. This is considered vandalism in wikipedia. Kukini 18:58, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
  3. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Kukini 18:59, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
  4. This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Kukini 19:01, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing because of repeated vandalism to Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text or spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks, and other deliberate attempts to disrupt Wikipedia are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. Martinp23 19:03, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Not vandalism

I have been unfairly accused of vandalism for trying to remove an overly long "Welcome" message from my own talk page! According to Wikipedia: Vandalism,

Deleting the comments of other users from Talk pages other than your own, aside from removing internal spam, vandalism, etc. is generally considered vandalism. Removing personal attacks is often considered legitimate, and it is considered acceptable to archive an overly long Talk page to a separate file and then remove the text from the main Talk page. The above does not apply to the user's own Talk page, where this policy does not itself prohibit the removal and archival of comments at the user's discretion.

This invalidates the claim by User:Kukini "Please do not blank notices on your user talk page. This is considered vandalism in wikipedia", which is incorrect.

OK - I'm going to unblock you, based on your email to me, and the fact that it was probably a mistake that when removing the welcome message, you also removed one warning. Please be more careful, and never remove warnings. Thanks Martinp23 21:02, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Just to clarify matters, deleting notices on your talk page is NOT the same as archiving. Nothing I posted above would qualify as a "personal attack" either. The blanking of notices on one's talk page, as was done numerous times by this user was not appropriate. My first notice was based on the blanking of a huge swath in a separate article [1], where there was inconclusive discussion on the user talk page. Kukini 21:46, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes, absolutely correct - never remove notices without linking to where you've placed them. Also, you removal of content from Baylor University is considered disruptive, and can lead to a block. Martinp23 22:10, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Once again...please do not blank your user talk page. Kukini 06:05, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Pesci, removing notices[2] is an unacceptable response to warnings in Wikipedia. Best to address Kukini's warnings rather than defend yourself over the talk page blankings. --ElectricEye (talk) 11:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

If you continue, you may be blocked for distruption. Martinp23 11:39, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Warning Removal

Your talk page is intended to serve as a place to discuss your contributions. It ends up being a sort of a history of the work you've done and the conflicts you've been in, or the praise you've recieved. It's alright to archive comments or warnings, but blanking it is not considered acceptable, as it is not yours. Please read WP:USERPAGE and WP:TALK. Please continue to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, and please don't continue to blank other users' comments. -Kukini 17:14, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
