Wikipedia has a currency: individual articles. People want to be "rich," and wikipedia has a way to make you work to earn it. Wikipedia:Notability requires multiple reliable sources in exchange for whatever text you wish to add to a page. For each group of multiple reliable sources you add, you can create a larger article around them. Episode articles are no different, and may be one of the most explicit examples of this quid quo pro.
