[edit] Lawrence Welk

I just added Lawrence Welk to the list of artists who have performed "Perfidia." Here is my citation: http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,184048,00.html . Word search on "Perfidia", or just look halfway down the segment labeled "calcutta! - album reviews."

Now if there is any sense of order to the list of artists, it is entirely lost on me--it does not seem to be alphabetical, it does not seem to be chronological, and it doesn't really even seem to be grouped according to regions of the world. Actually the ordering seems to express a bit of all of these criteria and a bit of none of them. But in view of the large number of artists who have performed "Perfidia" over the years, there would seem to be value to investing some degree of structure to the list based on whatever would be most meaningful to the greatest number of readers.

In conclusion, I have no idea how long personal remarks persist, but I simply cannot resist placing this in context: I remember this album--Calcutta!--because my grandparents had it and played it a lot 40-some years ago. Last year I discovered that there are words to the tune, and I pinned down the title only today (it is still July 3 in the Central Time Zone) with an NPR review of Ibrahim Ferrer's posthumous album, Mi SueƱo.
