A mnemonic (attributed to Richard Feynman)^{[citation needed]} for the elements of Period 3 (more precisely, starting from Neon, the last element of Period 2, and ending at Chlorine, the second-to-last element of Period 3) is:

"Nena, m'gal, sips chlorine"

(i.e., NeNa, MgAl, SiPS Chlorine).
