- Peret is also a season in the Ancient Egyptian calendar.
Pere Pubill Calaf, Peret (born in 1935) is a Catalan Romani Gitano singer, guitar player and composer, and the main representative of Catalan Rhumba. Peret represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, and performed at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. In 2001, Peret recorded an album of updated versions of his older songs, with guests including David Byrne, Sergeant Garcia, and Professor Angel Dust.
