Perceptual narrowing

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Perceptual narrowing is the process that takes place during the critical periods of psychological development. This allows distinct areas of the brain to specialise their functions. Without this process, the brain would be overloaded with information, and the brain would develop abnormally. There is evidence that suggests that autism could be caused by a failure of this process.
