People powered vehicle

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The PPV, or People-Powered Vehicle was a 2-person pedal car introduced in the United States during the oil crisis of the early 1970's. Manufactured by EVI of Sterling Heights, Michigan, it sold for under $400. Although it did offer some luggage space and was marketed as a fun and practical vehicle, it was neither weather-resistant nor fast enough to substitute for a car. The PPV was a forerunner of the modern Velomobile.
