Chief Peosta was a close personal friend of Julien Dubuque. When he was reburied in the 1890s he was placed just a short distance away from his friend. In recent times, as part of a community service project by Daniel Stecher, this new monument was placed over Peosta's grave. This is a photo that I had taken in June of 2004.
