"In volleyball a red card is used in a similar manner to football (soccer) and field hockey, resulting in a player being sent off. Yellow cards are also used."
- I believe that in volleyball, a yellow card is a warning, but carries no immediate additional sanction. A red card, however, results in a point being awarded to the non-offending team. In at least some levels of competition, a player (or coach) is disqualified or ejected by being shown both a yellow and a red card simultaneously. 76.21.8.213 (talk) 06:22, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
