Pelym, Sverdlovsk Oblast

Pelym (Russian: Пелым) is an urban-type settlement in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, administratively subordinated to the town of Ivdel. Population: 3,708 (2002 Census). Gazprom office and an airport are located in Pelym.

Pelym was established in 1592 and is one of the oldest localities in the region.[1] Both Biron and his rival Munnich were exiled here.
