A pelvic thrust is a general thrusting motion of the pelvic region, normally used in a sexual act.
[edit] Use in dance
Pelvic thrusts can also be used as a dance move, most often as part of bump and grind, but in other applications as well.
One of the first to perform this move was Elvis Presley, which was at the time quite controversial. Due to this, he would normally be shown (as seen on his third appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show) from the waist up on TV. [1]
Pelvic thrusts were also notably featured in the "Time Warp", a dance featured in the major motion picture "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".
Also, in the musical "Cats (Musical)", the character Rum Tum Tugger has many pelvic thrusts in his routine.
Notible pelvic thrusting songs are "Greased Lightning" and "Summer Loving" in the popular musical "Grease"
