First made in 1904, Pelikanol is a discontinued glue made by Pelikan AG. The white glue was applied with a brush and is similar in composition to today's glue sticks.
According to the company, declining sales figures and new statutory provisions that no longer allowed the familiar marzipan scent led to the product's demise.
A similar, if not identical, adhesive is distributed today under the name Coccoina.
"Pelikanol" is also the title of a song by the band Einstuerzende Neubauten.
