The grade system bears little or no information for the casual reader and asumes a bit too much knowlegde on the part of the reader. Maybe a explanatory paragraph or exchange of the grade system information to general terms. I fear it would become very unwieldy to add explanations of what national heritage grading systems mean to all the many thousands of articles that mention them. The terms are linked on first use to Listed building which explains the UK system in detail. Perhaps another wikilink could be introduced, as I note reorganisation of the "Other landmarks" section to put the elephant & castle item first has moved the link away from the start of the section.
