[edit] Closed sessions for school boards

PISD (Pearland Independent School District) board meetings may be addressed by the public, but basically this is a nod and smile session devoid of discussion. Substantive discussion and voting is done in closed session. Of course ultimate redress lies in the election process, but if the decision-making process is not open then on what basis do we vote? Information regarding the nature of the board, its powers and the rules governing its actions would be valuable. So too would a link to a site where the decisions and opinions of the board and its individual members are openly displayed ( were there ever to be such a site ). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.166.187.111 (talk) 17:12, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
