Description

Principal Component Analysis plot for 354 Y-chromosome haplotypes from the public Ysearch database, identified as belonging to Y-DNA Haplogroup J and its subgroups.

Data represent first and second most significant components calculated from 37 Y-STR markers.

The different J1, J2 and J2b subhaplogroups are resolved clearly into different clusters. Additional structure can be revealed by calculating further PCAs for each of the subgroup memberships separately. The labels J1 C37 and J2 C37 identify haplotypes often associated with Cohen lineages.
