[edit] Neutral point of view

Please see Wikipedia's policy of Neutral point of view. Your asserstions that the people you are writing about are "one of the foremost neuroanatomist of modern times" is your opinion, and may not be fact. Let people decide for themselves. Also, I deleted the Shawn Mikula article, because he has a long history in Wikipedia for self-aggrandisement, and there should be no articles about him. User:Zoe|(talk) 05:16, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Also, the site owner of brainmaps.org is Shawn Mikula, which makes it poison on Wikipedia, as does its 2,000,000 plus Alexa ranking. User:Zoe|(talk) 05:17, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

point taken :) but I do think BrainMaps.org has significance to the neuroscience-inclined among wikipedians. I noticed that the site does not belong to Shawn Mikula, though he apparently contributes to it. Also, the Alexa ranking is 1,600,000, which is good for the type of site that it is, and should be compared to similar sites, such as the Allen Brain Atlas site, which rank at over 2,200,000.

[edit] BrainMaps.org

Wait, wait. Before you re-insert all those links to the BrainMaps website, and if you want to avoid having everyone delete them, consider the following. I think that it is a good compromise to link directly to the images related to the article, but in essence you are still generating SPAM by having the name BrainMaps.org on every page. I would suggest describing the link as "Images of histological sections of the macaque monkey auditory cortex" or whatever, and leave out the name of the site. Otherwise everyone will keep deleting them as SPAM. Nrets 21:10, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

  • I agree, and will keep the website name out, and will only link to relevant images. Sorry about that. Pazda
