Idolator.com reacted to Christgau's dismissal from VV by creating its own "Jackin' Pop" poll, run by Michelangelo Matos, along pretty much the same principles as Pazz & Jop, and apparently drawing a comparable number of respondents. See [1], also [2] for the 2006 poll results. Christgau submitted to both, which is what he encourages others to do.
