Paul Chambers and Ray Brown are the greatest bass musicians to ever live. I am kicking back on an Easter Sunday afternoon, listening to Chambers play with Art Pepper. It's good for the soul...God Bless the guy.

I thought at least an attempt at non-pov writing was the preferred approach here. This thing reads like a personal essay intended for a jazz magazine, not an encyclopedia. (Duke Ellington airport??? Come on now.

There's also an incredible video clip on www.youtube.com.  Under "The Wynton Kelly Trio with John Coltrane".  Unbelievable, it's like re-discovering Paul Chambers.
