[edit] Job titles?

Can someone find out what actual positions Begala held in the Clinton campaign team and in the White House? Maybe a chronology of sorts? What would be even better would be to include large policy initiatives he was involved in (the health care proposal, e.g.).

[edit] Fetus?

"It should also be noted that on SNL he was likened to that of resembling an unborn fetus."

Does this belong in the article? I don't think so, thoughts? -- Jord 21:39 11 Oct 2004 UTC

I'm going to delete it

The fetus comment seems tacked on and feels like a lame partisan jab.

Go for it, dude! Ellsworth

Why delete the reference to SNL and the Begala Award? There is criticism for Begala being very partisan in the face of facts. There are lots of folks on both the left and right in that camp--but it is a legitimate point to make. I agree the actual lines from SNL (i.e., Matthews' fetus comment) are not appropriate.

[edit] Image

Is it just me, or does Begala appear to have an oddly shaped, bizarrely proportioned head? It looks like the screenshot was taken while he was staring into a funhouse mirror. Does anyone have a better likeness of this handsome, handsome man?KSchwartz 22:39, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Indeed, the current photo is awful. I think the image was just squeezed at the sides, and it does make him look like an alien. -albrozdude 16:27, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 50 State Strategy

"What he has spent it on, apparently, is just hiring a bunch of staff people to wander around Utah and Mississippi and pick their nose." - May 11th, 2006 on CNN

Mr Begala has expressed concern at the costs of operating Howard Dean's 50 State Strategy, an initiative to fund and organize candidates for the Democratic Party in every single state in the Unites States. His critics interpreted his words as though he didn't think that the Democratic Party should bother funding for candidates in areas that have had strong Republican support.

He later attempted to clarify that he supports the 50 State Strategy but has expressed concern at the costs of supporting it. He outlined the possibility that this could risk leaving the Democratic Party with insufficient funds to counter the impending aggressive media campaign that is expected from the Republican Party for the 2006 Senate Elections in November.
