Breakthrough music video director and filmmaker Paul "Coy" Allen is a man known for delivering quality creative imagery to audiences and artists alike. Allen is responsible for bringing the magic behind the music to life for these superstars such as Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Jupiter Rising. Allen has quicly become the go-to man for top artists and others looking to translate their song artistry to film and video.
Born in Chicago Illinois in April of 1977, Paul “Coy” Allen has achieved significant accomplishments in the entertainment industry. Growing up as an avid movie fan, he accredits his passion for film and entertainment to directors such as David Fincher, Luc Besson, and Wes Anderson, all of whom are what inspired Allen to become a director himself. Allen began his career in 1998 at the age of 20 for the budding Tollin/ Robbins Productions (Varsity Blues, Smallville, Norbit). His daily routine kept him in the mix of powerhouse Producers Brian Robbins, Mike Tollin, Dan Schneider, Mason Gordon (Slamball), Steve McFeely (Chronicles of Narnia), which ultimatley landed him his first fulltime job in the industry on Nickelodeon's Kenan & Kel. He held many credits, as Production Manger and Line Producer for many of today’s top television networks such as NBC, Comedy Central, HBO, Nickelodeon, and MTV. Allen quickly advanced to holding Creative Producer titles for many hit shows on these networks as well. This work experience has made him extremely well rounded in the entertainment industry. and played many milestones to the next step of his career. This lead Allen to starting his own production company, and selling his first television show at the age of 29.

Allen’s collaborations with well known Music Producer, Timbaland, were highly notable in 2007. He was introduced to Jimmy Iovine as being part of all of his future television, film and video projects. In January 2007, Allen directed a 19 minute video montage for the Grammy winning producer’s stage performance during Justin Timberlake’s current “Future, Sex, Love Sound” tour. The production/performance has been acknowledged and summarized in various press and media columns including the March 2007 issue of GQ magazine, and recognized by fans worldwide. Many attending fans have captured footage of this piece and along with supportive comments, have placed the clips on various Internet stream sites such as, YouTube and iFilm.
In 2007, TRL featured the long awaited Give It to Me music video, directed by Allen. The video succeeded in giving Allen both national and international recognition as a highly creative director. The song went on to top music charts in countrieslike Ireland, New Zealand, and Russia, and retained #1 spots in the U.S., UK,and Canada to name a few. “Give It To Me” was named one of the “Top 10 hottest music video for the summer of 2007” by MTV. The single has won a 2008 People’s Choice award, and is currently nominated for the “Best Pop Collaboration” category in this years Grammy award ceremony. Allen says the highlight of his career was receiving a phone call from iconic Director, Marty Callner, praising him for his work on the "Give It To Me" music video. Allen worked underneath Callner in 2002. Callner went on to direct Justin Timberlake's HBO live FutureSex/LoveShow. “Free”, Allen’s latest video directorial project for Texan new comer Twank, is a project supported by Blue Williams (Outkast, Nick Cannon), that is heavily predicted to do well in the beginning quarter of 2008.

In addition to his directing music videos Allen recently played the role of Co-Executive Producer on a reality television pilot he created with Producer Robert Rangel for the VH1 network. He also just directed “The Long Night” movie website a suspenseful short film written by Ryan Stevens. Allen is planning to place this project into film festivals in 2008. If that’s not enough Allen is currently developing and producing over five feature film projects including “One Last Time”, which is an action comedy set in Las Vegas. Most of the projects Allen is scheduled to direct, yet all will be produced through his production company Midas Entertainment. The Midas Entertainment creative roster includes Director/Producer/Writers, Earnest Rhea, and Ryan Stevens.
