Paul Yule

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul Harris Yule (born 22 June 1956) is a South African-born[1] British documentary film maker.

Before moving into film and television Yule was a photojournalist and, as well as contributing to numerous newspapers and magazines, published a book of photographs on Peru, "The New Incas" (New Pyramid Press, 1983).

As a film director he has specialised in making controversial documentaries, often on political themes, several of which have won awards (International Emmy[2], Royal Television Society[3], Edward Morrow Prize[4], amongst others). His films have dealt with subjects ranging from censorship in the United States to Peruvian photography - from the war in Chechnya to gay bashing in Texas to suicide cults - from cricket and racism in South Africa to the Marquis de Sade, Bruce Chatwin and the historiography of the second world war.

He lives in London.
