Paul Sommer

Paul Sommer was a Danish fighter pilot who fought for the Luftwaffe during World War Two.
Another Paul Sommer was a German champion fencer of the 1930s. Sommer was Jewish and might have died in the Holocaust but for the intervention of top SS officer Reinhard Heydrich, himself a fencer who admired Sommer's skills. Heydrich arranged for Sommer to be permitted to emigrate to the U.S.
