Paul G. Allen Family Foundation

The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation is a private foundation located at in Seattle, Washington. Their mission is to transform individual lives and strengthen communities by fostering innovation, creating knowledge, and promoting social progress.[1]

Established in 1986 to administer Paul Allen's giving, the Foundation awards approximately $30 million in grants annually. Roughly 60 percent of the Foundation's money goes to non-profit organizations in Seattle and the state of Washington and 12 percent to Portland, Oregon. The remaining 28 percent is distributed to other cities within the Pacific Northwest.[2]

The areas where the Foundation focuses giving include arts and culture, community development and social change, science and technology, and youth engagement.[3]
