[edit] Career
Benson was signed by Daggers boss John Still on July 1, 2005, after Still saw him on the pitch for White Ensign of the Essex Olympian Football League, where he scored 96 goals in his two seasons with the club. [1] Benson's first season with the Daggers was frustrating, as Benson was not a regular, scored only one Conference goal, and was out for three months with a broken leg.[2] However, the 2006-07 season was kind to Benson, as he earned a spot in Dagenham's XI, and finished the season as both the team and Conference leader in goals with 28, leading the Daggers' successful campaign for promotion to Football League Two.
