Wide Receivers
I'm from the Philly area. The TV's down here still say 6, but whatever. IF your gonna freak out, then I guess it's 81. And you were wrong. WR's can wear 6. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nfl#Uniform_numbers 76.98.15.224 21:19, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
¿WR/KR for Ginn?
I don't think it matters, but if Ginn was listed under "Receivers", there is a need to qualify him as a "WR/KR". However, Ginn is listed under "Wide Receivers" and it redundant to qualify him as a "WR/KR" because we know he is a WR by reading his position listing. If Ronnie Brown was a returner, it would make sense to have him listed as a "HB/KR" because "Running Backs" include FBs whereas "Wide Receivers" can only have WRs. Like I said, it doesn't matter. Raul17 18:11, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- That doesn't make sense only because if a player is only a returner, then you list him under "Special Teams" and list him as a KR, PR, or both! Isn't that why John Denney is listed as LS eventhough he played DE in college? You have to have a better explanation than that my friend! 8^ D Raul17 18:59, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
St. Louis Rams Colors
What official logo are you looking at? I took it off the Rams helmet. I pains takeningly copied the helmet onto Paint Shop Pro to get the RGB color model that is correct. Please don't change the colors to a color that the Rams never had. Compare the color that you are using to the both the Ram head and the helmet. It looks nothing alike. --Pinkkeith 18:40, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
What do you mean by main logo? The colors of all of their currently logos are all the same. --Pinkkeith 18:44, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Are you getting the color from {{Infobox NFL player#Team colors}}? It looks like the information on there is incorrect. The color that the Rams use is duller then that. --Pinkkeith 18:50, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Its not the color. I got the color months ago myself when I first made that template. Take a look at Wikipedia Talk:WikiProject_National_Football_League#Team_Colors_Revisited you can clearly see that they are not the same color. --Pinkkeith 18:58, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm assuming your source on his release was PFW. But that was an old (July 31) transaction. It is true he was waived/injured but he's already cleared waivers and been placed on IR.►Chris Nelson 21:18, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Indianapolis Colts
Any particular reasoning for that undo? Lambertman 16:41, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- I believe you are reading "pompousness" where it isn't there, as the station indeed does not air games anymore, and the Super Bowl game was the last one they aired. I hope it's not just a rivalry issue that offended you so. If the Patriots switched stations after one of their SB wins, I wouldn't be offended by the wording. Also, what's wrong with the addition of the television PBP announcer's name, in your eyes? 16:49, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- First off, the New England Patriots article itself has separate paragraphs for radio and television, which makes your complaint of my doing so in the Colts article puzzling at best. Secondly, I didn't add anything about the new affiliates because they were already mentioned in the paragraph before I touched it. I'm leaving the end date as the Super Bowl because there are people out there who probably aren't large enough football fans to understand that a game played in February 2007 is considered to be part of the "2006 Season", and Wikipedia should serve to educate. However, I've left out whether the Colts won. I finally suggest that dropping a wordless undo - equating a longtime editor with a common IP vandal - can be construed as "pompous" itself. There are some rational editors who respond well to constructive comments and thoughtful editing. Lambertman 17:22, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Gary Baxter
I noticed you removed Gary Baxter from the Browns' Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. I was just wondering where you got your information from that he was activated. It's not on the Browns' website, and he's still listed under the APUP list. He's in camp but he's not participating in any drills. If that was your reasoning, LeCharles Bentley should be "activated" too, since he's in camp. So if you could let me know, I'd appreciate it. Thank ya. Wlmaltby3 – talk/contribs 16:47, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's true that Baxter passed his physical, but he hasn't been activated from the PUP list. It's going to be historic (amongst those who truly understand the injury) when he's activated. That's why I questioned you, since I hadn't heard anything about it. But he's still on that list. Wlmaltby3 – talk/contribs 17:58, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- I don't believe this is correct. A passed physical is what gets a guy off the PUP list.►Chris Nelson 18:00, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Browns/Jerome Jackson
I think I'm misunderstanding what's written on the Browns website in an article where they claimed Jerome Jackson was placed in injured reserve. The article said he passed waivers and was placed on IR. So wouldn't that mean he's still on the team? I'm confused about that. I figured I'd ask you since you know more about that than I do. Template:Atlanta Falcons roster
I'm sorry, but the edit you made wasn't a full revert of me, so could you please explain the edit? Looking at the edit summary, I assumed you reverted me and I was confused. I understand the edit now, but for future reference, could you please try to avoid using the default edit summary if the edit you're making isn't a revert? But thanks for the right link, either way. Link
Thank you for actually providing a link to a discussion on the topic. Just a couple of notes though - it seems very "hit or miss" and that no real consensus was established. As the MOS does specifically describe that it is appropriate in certain cituations, and seeing as that discussion did not lead to a consensus - i can't say i'm in agreement with the decision to remove the content or to leave it. It's still up in the air and due to the rampant edit wars going on, and the tense situation, I have said time again that we need to go with status quo. There are lots of other edits one can make than to change contentious information in an infobox. All that aside, at least you pointed to pertinant text and that should not be overlooked as the discussion continues. Juan Miguel Fangio| ►Chat 01:07, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Undrafted free agents in NFL infobox
Hi, I'm writing you because you have previously posted on Template talk:Infobox NFLactive and I would like your opinion on an addition I made that is being contested. I have added a field to the infobox called "undraftyear", and when a year is entered it adds a line under a guy's college that says "Undrafted in 1997" or whatever year is appropriate. I did this because I felt there should be something noting a guy went undrafted, similar to the info for drafted players that was already in place. To see how this would look in an article, see here or here. If you would be in favor of this edit, I'd ask you to kindly voice this at Template talk:Infobox NFLactive#Undrafted free agents. It is being contested by one person because they feel the year should not be there. I feel the year is important, just as the year of drafting is important. I also feel that since we have an NFL debut section in the infobox as well as a listed of teams and years played for each, it wouldn't cause any confusion. So if you're okay with this edit or you'd like to get in the discussion, I'd encourage you to do so. Thanks!►Chris Nelson 22:19, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

The only thing is Kenny Smith never played a game for the Raiders, Patriots, or Bucs, so they shouldnt be categories for him, same with Cleo Lemon and the Ravens, and another thing Kenny smith is now a free agent he was released by the Pats today. Yankees10 03:42, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Your comment
Why did you leave that comment at User talk:Jmfangio?
And actually, I'm kinda suspicious now. I mean why else would you comment on that, if it doesn't concern you at all? I'm now under the suspicion that you are a sockpuppet of Chrisjnelson (talk · contribs). You both edit almost the exact same articles, and of course you appear to be defending Chrisjnelson, as well as you have been suspected of sockpuppetry in the past. Ksy92003(talk) 21:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know what comment Pats left because I don't watch Jmfangio's talk page, but I can assure you we are not sock puppets. I live in Atlanta and he lives in New England, I believe, and our IPs would show this. We do talk off Wikipedia, have a prior relationship from a gaming board and seem to agree on most things (unlike back in the day, haha). That's probably why he's sticking up for me, if in fact that is what his comment is relating to.►Chris Nelson 22:02, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

- Anyway, I just looked at the comment. Pats, don't want you to get in trouble for WP:NPA, it's not worth it.►Chris Nelson 22:03, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

General of the Army (United States)
Hmm, not sure what happened in these two edits, but they have been reverted. The two external links which were removed are functioning links to sites which have key reference sources. If there are better sources, feel free to swap them out. Thanks. — MrDolomite • Talk 11:37, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- You are right, reference and cites can be way overused on WP. But based on past edits and reverts on both GotA and GotArmies, having specific sources with dates and other information is very useful. Good point on making them into official ref tags, I took care of that. Thanks! — MrDolomite • Talk 14:59, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Reverting an edit
Regarding the article Gabe Hall. First, when you revert an edit that is not vandalism, you are supposed to leave an edit summary. Perhaps if you did that, you might run into fewer problems. At least you left an edit summary the second go around to let me that you "have gone through this before on other pages". Second, your wholesale revision removed a valid, sourced addition. To say he "is an American football offensive lineman for the Indianapolis Colts" is wrong. Finally, until today, the fact that he even signed with the Colts was an unreferenced claim. So, I am reverting your latest edit. If you want the team history and categories included in the article, feel free to put them back. →Wordbuilder 17:25, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- To be accurate, I didn't revert because of the "is". I reverted because I felt the new information (along with the related citation) should not have been removed.
- That Lubbock team in the LLWS was something else. I wish they had won it all but still quite something. I hope the Red Raiders baseball coaches keep those guys in mind when the time comes for them to go off to college. →Wordbuilder 18:30, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I fixed this one. In the future, I will preserve both the team history and the categories. There's another out there that someone else removed that info from a couple of days ago. I'll check it and restore what was deleted. →Wordbuilder 20:12, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Good point. I fixed the other one I mentioned. →Wordbuilder 20:55, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Infobox edits
I am aware of how one other user has decided to include that type of information on infoboxes, however, i am not that user. I do not care at this time to get into a content dispute with you, but if you would like to have a discussion - rather than reverting edits - please open discussions. If you feel like i might miss the discussion - please feel free to drop a note on my talk page. Juan Miguel Fangio| ►Chat 03:26, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

- You have had many discussion with CJN from what I can tell - I am not privy to all of them. Considering that you and I have had discussions in the past, it's surprising to me that you would elect for an edit war instead of discussion. It would appear that you are suggesting that my edits have something to do with you. I'm not sure why you would toss a statement like that into the mix, especially considering the fact that you reverted me without discussion - not the other way aroud. Craig Kobel....
Please stop reverting my edit, unless you have a source showing Craig Kobel is going to the IR. Numerous places have reported the Eagles reached an injury settlement with him, which would allow him to be waived outright, w/o reverting to the IR.
From [1]: "To that end, the team reached an injury settlement with linebacker Craig Kobel and waived him."
From [2]: "The Eagles trimmed their roster to the NFL-mandated 75 by reaching an injury settlement with Craig Kobel, who had a sports hernia, in order to waive the linebacker"
From [3]: "The Eagles reached an injury settlement with linebacker Craig Kobel (sports hernia), who was released on Tuesday."
From [4]: "The Eagles reached an injury settlement and waived linebacker Craig Kobel (sports hernia) Tuesday to reach the league-mandated roster limit of 75 players."

- Pats, I think you know as well as I do that it's very likely he got an injury settlement. The mere fact that some news sources have been told something with the words "injury settlement" in them makes it almost assured this is what has happened. I think you ought to let this one go.►Chris Nelson 22:01, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
