Hi there,
I use wiki often but new to edit the Wikipedia.
I'm a physics enthusiast, actually I just love theoretical physics & quantum theory.

[edit] Ubuntu GNU/Linux

I wrote a Blog entry about my Ubuntu GNU/Linux and with TeXmaker, I create a file ubuntu.tex, the code as follows,

\documentclass[a4paper,10pt]{report}
%\documentclass[prl,twocolumn,showpacs,preprintnumbers,amsmath,amssymb]{revtex4}

\usepackage{ucs}
\usepackage{makeidx}
\usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc}
\usepackage[english]{babel}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[dvips]{graphicx}
\usepackage{color,url,hyperref}

\usepackage{bbding} \renewcommand{\labelitemi}{%

   My name is Patrick Hoo, with the Chinese name Gengfeng Hu. I think I was born to a Taoist. Actually I'm a
cynical boy, physics enthusiast, \TeX{}Live user, Google fan, and absolutely \href{www.ubuntu.com}{Ubuntu}
GNU\^{}Linux \href{ubuntuforums.org}{lover}. If you'd like to know more about me, see

\href{picasaweb.google.com/QuInfoTP/Pat/photo#5077187743602041074}{card} that I had uploaded

This abstract contains extra information about myself, not just as what I had defined as, say, ``My own \textit{{\color{green}Patrick}{\color{red}ism}} Ubuntu GNU\^{}Linux``. What does your mean by ``\href{ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=367477}{Patrickism}``? The shortest answer is that, I really don't know.

I \href{www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download}{request} a Ubuntu(Ubuntu is a complete Linux-based operating system containing the very best free and open source software applications you need to work and play. With Ubuntu you can surf the web, read email, create documents, presentations and spreadsheets, edit images and more. Ubuntu is an African word, which has been described as ``too beautiful to translate into English``. The essence of Ubuntu is that ``a person is a person through other people``. It describes humanity as ``being-with-others`` and prescribes what ``being-with-others`` should be all about. Ubuntu emphasis sharing, consensus, and togetherness. It's a perfect concept for Free Software and open source. Here's a great \href{www.bu.edu/wcp/Papers/Afri/AfriLouw.htm}{article} that describes Ubuntu, which may help define it. \href{en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu}{Wikipedia} also has a good definition. Ubuntu, an African word from Zulu and Xhosa, is pronounced ``oo-BOON-too``, see \href{www.ubuntu.com/aboutus/faq}{this} web page.)7.04 Feisty Fawn CD on Aug. 6th, 2007, and installed it in the midnight of Aug. 29th, 2007.

Back to the first time I use Linux, I remember it was July 28 that I installed Red Flag Desktop 4.0, as a green hand about Linux then, I damn the Red Flag. After that, on Aug. 1st, 2007, I borrowed one of my classmates's Red Hat 9.0 CD. Red Hat is a nice thing but I turn to use Debian GNU\^{}Linux, I use Debian GNU\^{}Linux for about 3 weeks. Ubuntu GNU\^{}Linux whose packages are based on Debian GNU\^{}Linux is the best chosen of the various distribution of Unix\^{}Linux like systems, to me.

The reason why I'm using Linux is that, I'm totally a \TeX{} \& \LaTeX{} user. Based on several days of the Ubuntu GNU\^{}Linux experience, I knew I must be a dual system WinXP \& Ubuntu GNU\^{}Linux user that one installed both WinXP(I don't love Windows Vista, and am a longtime \textcolor[rgb]{1.00,0.50,0.00}{\textbf{Win}}dows e\textcolor[rgb]{1.00,0.50,0.00}{\textbf{XP}}erience user but now, I'm using WinXP just for a reason that \href{picasaweb.google.com/QuInfoTP/Pat/photo#5091296152273027426}{Belle} said to me that, plz help me with my QQ. QQ is, an instant messenger that is widely by Chinese, and, oops, You foreigners must have never heard about it. \&\emph{We smile at your guess} \&, thinks you.) and Ubuntu GNU\^{}Linux onto their sweat laptops.

I had uploaded this whole tex file onto my \href{en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:PatrickHoo}{Wikipedia}'s User\_Talk page. Please feel free to copy and compile it.

In this report, I \emph{will} \ldots

In-line math, Lp, like this?

Lp

On-line math?

The LaTeX formulas can be displayed in-line (like this x \in R^2), as well as on their own line:

\int_0^\infty e^{-x^2}\,dx

[edit] Physical Boy

My name is Patrick Hoo, with the Chinese name Gengfeng Hu. I think I was born to a Taoist. Actually I'm a cynical boy, physics enthusiast, TeXLive user, Google fan, and absolutely Ubuntu GNU/Linux lover. If you'd like to know more about me, see Wikipedia or have a look at my Gmail contact card that I had uploaded it as a photo onto the folder of my Picasa Web Albums.

[edit] Quantum Optics

For the coherent states,

\int |\alpha\rangle\langle\alpha|d^2\alpha = \pi\sum_n |n\rangle\langle n|

Since the Fock states |n\rangle (Must I written in this way? |n>) form a complete orthonormal set, the sum over n (In HTML, n) is simply the unit operator. We thus have

\frac{1}{\pi}\int |\alpha\rangle\langle\alpha|d^2\alpha = 1

which is the completeness relation for the coherent states.
--PatrickHoo (talk) 02:44, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Quantum Information Theory

The fidelity of states ρ and σ is defined to be

F(\rho, \sigma) = \operatorname{Tr}{\sqrt{\rho^{1/2}\sigma\rho^{1/2}}} .

The fidelity between a pure state |\Psi\rangle and an arbitrary state, ρ is then

F(|\Psi\rangle, \rho) = \operatorname{Tr}{\sqrt{\langle\Psi|\rho|\Psi\rangle|\Psi\rangle\langle\Psi|}} = \sqrt{\langle\Psi|\rho|\Psi\rangle}

--PatrickHoo (talk) 04:47, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cluster State

A cluster state is the N-qubit state |C\rangle that is an eigenstate of the following N stabilier generators:

S_i = X_i\prod_{k \in n(i)}Z_k ,

where i indexes the qubits, n(i) is the neighbourhood of qubit i, and the eigenvalues of the Si are + 1.

[edit] Tomboy

Tomboy is a desktop note-taking application which is simple and easy to use. It lets you organise your notes intelligently by allowing you to easily link ideas together with Wiki style interconnects.
I'm using Ubuntu 7.10, Tomboy-LaTeX - LaTeX math plugin for Tomboy.

[edit] LaTeX on HTML

I've had my own wiki, say TiddlyWiki.
Here is the URL
And I use jsMath to display MATH on my html file. It seems good, Wikipedia's inline math looks ugly.
