BornMarch 2nd 1969, in Limerick City, Ireland. Currently employed as PR Director to the Institute of Transport Management, he is most noted for holding the Irish Schools record for Boxing championships, having won 5 consecutive national titles in the mid 1980's and two European championships. In 67 bouts, he won 59, drew 2 and lost 6.

An eye condition forced Sheedy to retire from the sport in 1989, in which time he had fought in contests with future professionals Henry Wharton, Ray Close, Vincenzo Nardiello, Robin Reid, and Olympic finalist Chris Byrd form the USA.
