Apparently; Patrick Mercer, accepted as true the word of habitual criminal (Brendon Fearon) who proclaimed that he was crippled by farmer Tony Martin, which was disproved by a picture in the media of him riding a bicycle.

If Mr Mercer, believes that criminals would be deterred by the Bill that he failed to breathe life into simply because Brendon Fearon said so; then sadly he really is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Mr Patrick Mercer, is correct to say that his “ears were fully open” but his brain failed to realise that the word of an habitual criminal is not unlike the word of a politician; accordingly one should take everything they say with a pinch of salt.

Obviously, just google "Patrick Mercer MP" under an image search. This is a good link : Patrick Mercer http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/shared/mpdb/img/66112.jpg --Nukemason4 19:53, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources, please?

Call me a pedant, but ... any chance of some references for the assertion about assassination attempts?

[edit] FRU's actions

Is there any need for the description of the FRU's shortcomings? In an article so void of substance, surely we don't need this?
