"Compare with matricide (the killing of one's mother), filicide (the killing of a child by his or her parent), fratricide (the killing of one's sibling), regicide (the killing of a king), suicide (killing oneself) and homicide (killing another person)." Shouldn't there be genocide too? Best regards, --anon

[edit] Parricide v. Patricide

Parricide and Patricide are different:

par·ri·cide Audio pronunciation of "Parricide" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pr-sd) n.

  1. The murdering of one's father, mother, or other near relative.
  2. One who commits such a murder.

Parricide is the killing/murder of ones parents (or one who commits such an act). Patricide is the killing/murdering of ones father (specifically). I am spplitting the parricide and patricide articles.
