Patrick "Get Hype" Barry (born July 7, 1979) is a professional Super Heavyweight American kickboxer and martial artist, from New Orleans, Louisiana. He's currently competing in K-1 and WCL and is trained by four time K-1 World Champion Ernesto Hoost.[1]

[edit] Biography & career
Barry started training professionally at the age of 21 when he was junior sociology major at LSU and walked into Russell Jones's Kickboxing Gym in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He made his pro debut on November 2, 2002 at U.S. Open International Martial Arts championships, winning by KO over Robert Parham. A year later Barry participated at Kung-fu World Championships in China, winning a silver medal.
In 2004 he took part of K-1 tryouts held in Las Vegas, NV and made his K-1 debut on April 30, 2005 at K-1 World GP 2005 in Las Vegas, losing by split decision to Scott Lighty. Barry tragically lost a grandmother and his family home when Hurricane Katrina hit his native New Orleans in 2005.[2]
In 2006 Barry moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands to train with Ernesto Hoost. In 2007 he participated in two K-1 World GP tournaments held in Honolulu, Hawaii and Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 2008 he will be making his World Combat League debut in the 235lb weight class fighting for the New York Clash.
