Pat Falvey

Pat Falvey led the first ever Irish expedition to reach the South Pole on 8th January, 2008. The party also included Dr. Clare O'Leary, Jonathan Bradshaw, and Shaun Menzies. Their exploits were chronicled in the Irish media
Falvey had previously been involved in numerous endurance treks including climbing the highest peak on every continent.
His father Tim was a former Lord Mayor of Cork and Fianna Fáil councillor.
The Beyond Endurance expedition set off in November 2007 and covered 1,100km over the harsh terrain.
