[edit] Batavia

Does anyone know why Passau came to be Batavia or Castra Batavia, when it was so far from the historical Batavia in what is now the Netherlands? Were Batavian cohorts stationed there? If so it was not the only place. Flapdragon 02:35, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps someone who reads German well can copy some of those facts from the German version into the English version? Crowston 03:40, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
