I deleted "There are three rough groups of partner dances", since there was no followup as to what those groups are. RickK 03:38, 24 Oct 2003 (UTC)
[edit] contact vs. non-contact
If somebody was to say "dance with me", but danced near somebody without holding hands or other physical contact, like for instance if the other just wanted to be impressed by one (e.g. dancing in front to show from behind, or face to face); would that be considered a partner dance?
- Not according to the typical use of the term. For example, line dancing is not considered a partner dance.
[edit] Partner dances with partners of the same sex
