I don't see why the fact that placing the capo on the second fret raises the pitch of some of the strings, and therefore the key, should be considered a limitation. Raising the pitch is what a capo does. Nor is the need to combine it with another capo for DADGAD in other keys a limitation—you can't do that with an ordinary capo on its own either.
