Anyone know where the name "Parsippany" comes from? Is it Native American?

As far as I remember from Boy Scouts and local history Parsippany comes from the language of the indigenous Native Americans called the Lenne Lenape. The area now known as Parsippany was known as Parsippanong, meaning the place where rivers come together.

Just to let people know, Parsippany's soccer teams are very famous, with the Parsippany Gazelles making it to the national tournament in Tampa last year. Paul Mirabella was also from Parsippany.
