Parothumneer is a small village near Cherupuzha, Kannur. It is located 40km from Payyanur. The name "Parothumneer" originated from a small beck[clarify] under the tree "Paroth". It is also famous for the Theyyam in Shree Vishnumurthy Temple each year.[citation needed]
