Park Kyung-ni (October 28, 1926May 5, 2008) was a Korean novelist. She was born in Tongyeong, in Gyeongsangnam-do Province, and later lived in Wonju, South Korea. She made her literary debut in 1955, with Gyesan (Calculations). She is however most well-known for her 16-volume story The Land (Toji), an epic saga from the Korean Peninsula, which was later adapted into an opera, a movie, and a television series.[1]
