Parasara Bhattar was a follower of Ramanuja, a 12th century Vaishnava teacher, and has written a commentary on Vishnu sahasranama from a Vaishnavite viewpoint. He was appointed as the head of Shri Vaishnavites (handed over Sri Vaishnava Sri) by Ramanuja himself to succeed him.
