The music video for "Paralyze" was shot in December 2007 in Los Angeles.[citation needed] The video features Tila in a darkened shower scene, sometimes appearing with another man (presumably a former lover), who fades off shortly after appearing. It also features Tila in bed with the man, singing to him while he holds her in his arms. In other scenes, Tila is outdoors, by her poolside in an upscale Los Angeles condo, as well as singing the song in a large door's windowframe. The video premiered on April 2, 2008, on Yahoo Music.

Wellheart Music Journal was one of the first major music publications to review the new single Paralyze. The review was glowing, calling the track soulful and adding 'With the proper promotion and the video just having premiered, it shouldn't be surprising if this is her breakthrough smash.'[1]
