[edit] Question

In the "Shut down" section, what does the phrase "and the election of the left-leaning United Front government at the Centre," mean? Does that refer to a United Front government in J&K, or India as a whole? Thanks. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 22:08, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Common term in political science for the Central Government, the commonly used term for the Union Government. --Relata refero (disp.) 22:27, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Is there a more commonly used phrase (in India) outside of political science? Just curious if anybody would know. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 22:37, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I think if you say "the Centre" people know what you mean. Like when an American says "the House" people understand. --Relata refero (disp.) 22:39, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Got it, thanks! -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 22:41, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
