The Papuan Parrotfinch Erythrura papuana is a common species of estrildid finch found in Indonesia's Papua province and Papua New Guinea. It has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 50,000 to 100,000 km².
It is found in subtropical/ tropical montane moist forest. The status of the species is evaluated as Least Concern.
