[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Aqua Recent Press Photo.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Aqua Recent Press Photo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Save-Me-Oprah(talk) 18:10, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] copy of the email I sent you
Hi,
I am Lucasbfr, of the English Wikipedia. I see that you've uploaded a picture of Mark Hoppus at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mark_hoppus_99.jpg
Unfortunately, you forgot to specify under which license you were releasing it (if you are the sole author of the photograph of course). Can you please have a look at the usual licenses we allow you to license your content under and tell me which one you would like to use?
Please keep in mind that if you wish an image to be included in Wikipedia, you must release it for publication under the terms of one of the following licenses:
- the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), which may be viewed at
<http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html>
- A Creative Commons <http://www.creativecommons.org/> license such as
CC-BY or CC-BY-SA which allows
-
- use in any work, regardless of content
- creation of derivative works
- commercial use
- free distribution
The best choice is usually to license your content under both, and let others pick the one they wish to use.
A Wikipedia-only release is unacceptable as it does not allow reuse of content by third parties.
Please keep in mind that both licenses allow commercial reuse.
If you don't choose a license, we unfortunately will have to delete your image.
